How a Blenheim caravan dealer turned $5,393 of ad spend into $550,480 of online-channel sales in six months.
Grovetown Caravans sells new-to-them and on-behalf caravans, motorhomes and clearance stock from a yard in Blenheim, New Zealand. Before February 2026 sales came almost entirely from people driving past or walking in. There was no reliable way to put stock in front of buyers outside Marlborough.
C.E.A Smith built and ran the whole online sales channel: Meta advertising managed weekly, an always-on engagement campaign that starts Messenger conversations with buyers, a lead-generation campaign for premium caravans, and a website traffic campaign. Stock is listed and presented online, connected to the website. Every week we manage budgets, creative, audience tuning and enquiry handling.

All sold to buyers who found the stock online. The channel also cleared slow stock that walk-in traffic never touched, including clearance units under $5,000.
Three reasons this channel performs.
Conversations, not clicks
The core campaign optimises for started Messenger conversations. A caravan buyer who messages about a unit is already half way to a yard visit. 3,886 conversations for $1.28 each is a queue of buyers, every week.
The whole channel, not just ads
Ads, listings, website and enquiry handling are run as one system by one operator. When a unit lands in the yard it is online the same week.
Full transparency
The dealer owns the ad account and pays Meta directly, so every advertising dollar is visible and none of it is hidden inside an agency fee.
A flat monthly management fee. The dealer owns their ad account, their pixel and their website, and pays the ad platform directly. No percentages, no lock-in: if we stop performing, they keep everything and simply stop paying the fee.
Worth saying plainly: Grovetown is run by Gary Smith, Richard’s father. That family connection is why this case study can be this open, with full access to the sales register that no arm’s-length client would hand over. The advertising numbers come straight from the ad account either way, and the same weekly reporting is what every client gets.
You need to stop selling caravans, we’re so busy we can’t keep up.
