C.E.A Smith (ceasmith.com) is a digital marketing business based in Blenheim, New Zealand. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What information we collect

We only collect information you provide directly to us:

  • Contact form submissions, your name, business name, phone number, and your challenge/message
  • Analytics data, anonymised data about how visitors use our website (via Google Analytics 4), including pages visited, time on site, and general location (city/region level). We do not collect personally identifiable analytics data.

We do not collect payment information. We do not collect sensitive personal information (health, ethnicity, religion, etc.).

Why we collect it

  • To respond to your enquiry or service request
  • To fulfil services you have asked us about
  • To improve our website based on how it is used

We do not sell your information. We do not use your information for unsolicited marketing unless you have specifically asked to be kept informed.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies, small text files stored in your browser. We use them for:

  • Analytics (Google Analytics 4), to understand how visitors use the site
  • Essential function, to remember form state during your visit

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not function correctly if you do.

Who we share your information with

We share information with:

  • Google Analytics, anonymised usage data. Google may store this data on servers outside New Zealand. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare, our hosting provider. Cloudflare processes traffic data as part of delivering the website.

We do not share your personal information with any other third parties without your consent, unless required by law.

How long we keep your information

  • Contact form and enquiry data: up to 2 years, or until you ask us to delete it
  • Analytics data: subject to Google Analytics' standard retention settings (14 months by default)

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct any information that is wrong
  • Ask us to delete your information (where we are not legally required to keep it)

To make a request, email info@ceasmith.com. We will respond within 20 working days. Step by step instructions for a deletion request, including data held through our Meta app, are on our user data deletion page.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the website after changes means you accept the updated policy.
