User data deletion

This page explains how to ask C.E.A Smith to delete data we hold about you, including any data obtained through our Meta (Facebook and Instagram) app, "CEA Smith Ads Automation".

About the app

"CEA Smith Ads Automation" is an internal tool used by C.E.A Smith to create and manage advertising campaigns on our own Meta ad accounts and Pages, and on the ad accounts and Pages of clients who have given us access to manage their advertising. It is not a consumer app and it is not available to the public.

The app does not use Facebook Login to sign members of the public in, and it does not collect personal information from people who see or interact with the ads it manages beyond what Meta itself reports.

What data the app can access

• Ad account, campaign, ad set and ad settings for the accounts we manage
• Aggregated advertising performance figures reported by Meta, such as impressions, clicks and cost
• Basic profile and Page details of the account holder who authorised the app
• Contact details submitted by people who choose to fill in one of our Meta lead forms, which are name, email address, phone number and the trade or business they describe

How to request deletion

Email info@ceasmith.com with the subject line "Data deletion request". Include:

• Your name, and the business name if the request relates to a business
• The email address or phone number you gave us, so we can find your record
• If the request relates to our Meta app, the Facebook Page or ad account involved

What happens next

• We confirm the request within 5 working days
• We delete the data within 30 days of confirming your identity
• We email you when the deletion is done

Some records are kept where the law requires it, for example invoices and tax records under New Zealand tax law. If that applies to any part of your request, we tell you which records we have to keep and why.

Revoking the app's access to a Facebook Page or ad account can also be done at any time from Meta Business Settings, under Business assets and Connected apps. Removing access stops any further data being received. It does not delete data already held, so send the email above as well if you want the existing records removed.
