Fund One Business: one systems upgrade, on us

The offer. Each round we choose one New Zealand business and build the system it is missing, at no cost, and we document the project (with permission) so other owners can see what changed.

1. Who can apply. A business that has traded in New Zealand for at least 6 months. One application per business per round. Not open to our staff and their families.
2. Free to apply. No purchase, no fee.
3. What the selected business receives. A systems build (for example: a website, enquiry handling, an AI receptionist set-up, workflow automation or an internal tool) designed with you and delivered by C.E.A Smith, worth up to NZ$5,000 at our standard rates. The scope is agreed in writing before work starts. Third-party costs (software subscriptions, domains, call charges) are not included unless the agreed scope says so. Any ongoing service after delivery is optional and at our normal rates.
4. Only one business is selected each round. Applying does not mean you will be selected, and businesses that are not selected do not receive the build.
5. How we choose. Not by chance. We assess every eligible application against: how clearly the problem is described, how much a better system would change the business, whether it can be delivered well within the value in clause 3, and the owner's availability to work with us. We may ask shortlisted applicants for a short call. Our decision is final, and we will tell every applicant the outcome.
6. Rounds. Each round's closing date and selection date are shown on the application page. We select one business from the eligible applications in every round we run.
7. Being featured. The selected business agrees in writing, before selection is confirmed, to us filming and publishing the project (its name, the problem, the work and what changed). Nothing is published without that agreement, and no figures are published unless they are checked against the business's own records.
8. No cash alternative, and the build cannot be transferred.
9. Privacy. Applications are used only to assess and contact applicants and are not shared.
10. Law. New Zealand law applies.
